Thinking Holidays? Think Holiday Villas

Choosing holiday villas can be a difficult task; we are blessed in Europe with so many fantastic destinations and, with reasonably-priced flights available to most European countries, it's feasible to take a break wherever we like.

For years it has been the tradition for British people to rent holiday villas in Spain, where the climate is good and the locals are friendly. If you are a real sun worshiper, the Coasta Del Sol is your best bet for getting the most of the Spanish sun. Resorts here include Malaga and Marbella, and the whole coast is full of resorts, whether your preference is for lots of partying in bars and clubs, or relaxing somewhere quiet and enjoying meals in restaurants.

The Canary Islands are another popular destination for UK holiday makers, and you'll find a range of holidays villas here. There are seven islands that constitute the Canaries: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro, but it is the four largest islands, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Tenerife and Fuerteventura, which are the most popular holiday destinations.

For a serene holiday, Fuerteventura is the most unspoilt of the main islands. Enjoy relaxing here on the beach and sampling some of the many restaurants. Those with a taste for a lively nightlife should head to main resorts on either of the other three.

The Canaries, although belonging to Spain, are actually situated off of the coast of North Africa, which means that in peak summer months, temperatures get very high. If you prefer milder weather, you may be better off holidaying in early or late summer, when prices will be cheaper, resorts less busy and the temperature pleasant.

The main Balearic Islands of Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera are full of holiday villas and are situated in the Mediterranean Sea, and belong to Spain. The Island of Ibiza has a somewhat notorious reputation as a party island and, while it's true that it is one of the number top destinations for clubbers in Europe, there are also peaceful and beautiful locations in Ibiza once you head away from the hustle and bustle of San Antonio and Ibiza Town. Many celebrities own holiday villas on the island and it has a very upmarket, exclusive scene as well as its party island image.

There are holiday villas all over Europe, and each country offers something different to enjoy, whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a lively holiday with friends or a family holiday that everyone can enjoy.
