Top Tips to Know Before Your Holiday to Venice

Planning the perfect holiday to Venice can be a joy but it can also be something of a worry. After all, you're probably going to be spending a lot of your hard-earned cash and want to make sure you're going to get the best experience you can for it. So, here are a few tips on planning your holiday to Venice that you might find helpful.

1. Think about your real interests. If you want beach and sea interspersed with a little culture then you might be better off further around the lagoon and close to the beaches (Venice Lido). Make sure your destination has Vaporetti connections (water buses) that run regularly to the city itself.

2. If you don't like a lot going on around your hotel instead preferring a little more peace and quiet, then avoid hotels that are close to the major tourist centres like St Mark's. The city can be very busy in the peak summer weeks and the streets in the very centre are crowded for much of the day and night.

3. Try to select a hotel that has some water frontage in close proximity. That's because if you take a water taxi from the airport (note - that can be expensive) it will be able to drop you and your bags that bit closer to your final destination.

4. Similarly, also look at the Vaporetti dropping off points in the tourist web sites. Once again, selecting a hotel relatively close by might mean you avoid needing to drag your suitcases longer distances across the town once you've got off the bus from the airport.

5. A holiday to Venice can be magnificent at any time of the year but in spite of sea breezes, the city can be hot at peak summer times with an average temperature of around 28C. That's not scorching, but if you don't like heat when you're exploring a city then try to visit in spring or autumn.

6. Be clear on your budget. City-centre holidays in any major European city are going to cost a considerable sum of money. If you are on a very tight budget, consider staying somewhere on the outskirts of town or a few kilometres away. You may save a lot of money in accommodation costs, though that will be offset a little by public transport costs. However, providing you can tolerate a little bit of commuting at the start and end of day, you may still save some serious money by doing so.

This is truly one of the world's greatest and most beautiful cities. It's somewhere everyone should see. Just a little thought and care when selecting your actual destination in the city could add to your enjoyment of your holiday to Venice.

How To Get Cheap Holidays In Italy

By Hans Kreiling

Are you looking for cheap holidays in Italy? Are you feeling the pinch and yet want to get away for your summer destination without having to spend too much money? Well, if this is the case then you are in the same position as many people, and there are certainly a few things that you could do in order to reduce the cost of any holiday that you might take.
One thing you could do would be to make sure you book your holiday in advance. If you know exactly when you want to travel and specifically where exactly you are going to travel to then you can look for various trips to that destination and book up early in order to receive a discount.

However, you can also save money by doing the exact opposite and by booking last-minute. If you were to book your holiday up last-minute then you will find that the price you will have to pay will be much lower. In order to do this you have to be flexible and there is no guarantee you will be able to go to your specific destination, but you will be able to save money.

It might also be a good idea to book your holiday during the low season rather than during the peak times of year when there are more crowds going to Italy and when the prices are raise up. Booking during the low season such as before the summer or after the summer will help you to still get nice temperatures simply avoid the larger costs.

Of course, choosing an all-inclusive deal is also an excellent way of saving money as well. An all-inclusive deal will allow you to pay for your flights, accommodation, food and drink, and a number of activities as well all in one package. In most cases you will find that paying for everything together like this will help you save money rather than paying for each part of the trip separately.

All in all, these are just a few options that you might consider when you are looking for cheaper holidays to Italy.

Top 5 Great Things to Do In Rome

Ancient structures and ruins that are over 2, 000 years old, magnificent view of the eternal city, a romantic walk through the Gardens, great family camping areas, mind-blowing work of art collections, beautifully designed basilicas and a chance to be an audience to the Pope, these are just among the things you can see and do in Rome.

Because Rome offers so many things, picking the top 5 is a bit challenging.
However, after days of exploration and rigorous review, I have finally figured out what are the top great things all tourist, especially those first time Rome visitors, should not miss doing when they visit Rome.

Stroll Through the Historic Colosseum
The Colosseum is definitely among the great structures in Rome that tourists should not dare miss visiting. It is a very huge amphitheater that is located at the historic center of Rome. It was considered the largest stadium ever built during the Roman Empire era. It does not only serve as Rome's main landmark but likewise a great emblem of the very advanced flairs and adroitness of the ancient Roman engineers.

This over 2, 000 years old stadium is so huge that it can accommodate over 50, 000 audiences at a time. With its prominence and highly impressive edifice, you can surely say it's worth all the effort, time and money you spent just to walk through it.

Walk Through and Relax at the Villa Borghese Gardens
Whether you are alone, with your friends, family or your romantic partner, walking through the gardens of Villa Borghese and breathing in the relaxing fresh air can be so delightful. Villa Borghese is the third largest park in Rome next to the Villa Ada gardens and the Doria Pamphili garden. It is also the most central public park in the eternal city and is very popular to pleasure seekers, joggers, strollers and to individuals who are fond of walking with the pets. Tourist and local boat lovers can also enjoy the relaxing and amusing sailing activity at the artificial lake in Villa Borghese Gardens.

You may also enjoy feeding the turtles, looking at the different varieties of water birds and fishes in the pond as well as riding the ponies in the park. If you want to escape the hassle and bustle of the city or should you want to elude from the huge city crowd, you can climb up the steep hill located right behind the Gianicolo and Trastevere. You will surely enjoy the panoramic view of the eternal city and enjoy a relaxing nap under the shaded tree while listening to the sound of nature.

Treat Your Tongue with Roman Provender
When in Rome, you should not miss treating your tongue with the city's provender. You may grab a slice of authentic pizza Romana from the many pizzerias around the city. If you wish to taste the city's ultimately cultural gourmet Roman gastronomy, try out a slice of thin crust pizza that is freshly tossed in a wood fired traditional oven and take a taste of a goblet of Roman style wine. You should also not miss trying out one of the sinful indulgences of Rome- sweet treats. You can find exquisite cafes and shops offering Rome's finest chocolate and sweet treats around the eternal city, especially around the Pantheon. Also never miss indulging your taste bud with the famous Italian gelato and the authentic Italian coffee.

Attend an Audience of the Pope
Catholic devotees and even people from various religious sectors are very welcome to sit in Saint Peter's Square and to be among the Pope's general audiences. If you want a more intimate moment with the Pope, you can catch his mass on Wednesday mornings in the Sala Nervi audience hall. After the mass, you can stroll around Saint Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel where you can see the elaborately designed frescoes and the stunning works of Michelangelo.

Toss a Coin into the Trevi Fountain
There are certainly lots of things to do and lots of beautiful sightseeing spots to see in Rome. If you would like to experience Rome at the most, never miss tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain. It has been a common belief that tossing coins can ensure a comeback trip to Rome. Not only that this fountain is famous for such cultural conviction, but also for artists and individuals who loves taking photographs of beautiful places.
